Natanael Solano finished 3rd in the overall when Perm Tour finished today with the parade race in Perm and thereby conquered the tour's Youth Competition.
Natanael Solano started his adventure by finishing 3rd on Stage 2 where he battled some of the biggest names in cycling. His captain, Äme Anderberg didn't have one of his best days, and the team decided to focus on the young Solano. One of the old experienced riders of Team Zyte, Italian Vito Feresi was an important guidance at the stage, and after a long job helping Solano, Feresi ended up 8th on the stage.
The great result gave Solano a position as 4th in the General Classification with only 16 seconds to the leading rider Nico Holt from FFL. The tour was to be settled by the 48 km long timetrial where Solano finished in a decent time. He managed to beat two of the competitors above, though he wasn't close beating Nico Holt who expanded his lead. However, lurking further down on the positions was Canadian Solomon Henschel from Team Whalers who set the absolute best time ensuring the win, infront of Holt and Solano.
Natanael Solano finished 3rd overall which also was enough to ensure him the win in the Youth Competition, adding a new jersey to Team Zyte's palmarès.
"This is a very important result for me. I now believe that I can go far. I failed at last season's Germany Tour as my fans know, but I'll be giving it another try if the team gets an invite", said Natanael Solano after the tour.
Team Zyte is with the newly won points placed 31 st on the rankings, and will therefore have to pull themselves together in order to secure an invite for the biggest tour of the calender - Germany Tour.
